Exhibit
Each of the 23 intricately crafted quilts made by me, Sarah Scull, tell a story relating to my personal exploration of identity, heritage, and culture through the lens of an adoptee and birthmother. Each piece includes textiles from my own life. Many of the textiles are sourced from others who have made a significant impact on me.

The quilts in this collection disclose some of my thoughts on being and belonging. It's a showcase of my own current understanding of myself and my place in the world as I continue to navigate the complexities of love, connection, and loss. From cherished memories to transformative experiences, these quilts serve as an honest view into some pretty vulnerable thoughts, inviting viewers to reflect on the impact humans make in the lives of those they love, like, and hardly know.
